  • YOUR TARGET MARKET

  • Precisely WHO are you targeting?
  • How did you decide on this activity? Is it "just something you've always done"? How appropriate and cost effective is this activity? e.g. If it is an advertisement, would other activity (such as internet marketing or a personalized Direct Mail letter, e-shot or text blast be more appropriate?
  • YOUR HEADLINE

  • What impact is made if the first 3 seconds of seeing this piece? Does it hit the right HOT Buttons of your target market?
  • e.g. "The Top 3 ways to cure your Back Problem!" (Remember this is about THEM not you, so if you use your logo, it must NOT be in the heading.)
  • (Because that's its JOB). How well does your Headline do this?
  • Remember, you may be sending it to 1000 people - but it is being read by ONE person each time. You must talk to them individually by using words like "You" and Your".

  • YOUR OFFER

  • This is their low-risk or no-risk next step. You DO have an Offer, don't you? If not, what will the reader respond to? Is it exciting, enticing and good enough for them to take action NOW? How easy is it to understand?
  • YOUR COPY AND VISUAL APPEARANCE

  • How can you improve it?
  • Does it make you want to read it? How does it attract you visually? If you're using photos, how relevant and easy to see are they? How easy to read is the font size, color and type?
  • How well does every sentence fulfill its primary objective of encouraging you to read the next one? How well have you used Sub-Headings to break up the copy... and do the sub-headings tell the story (for those who will just 'skim' the copy?
  • YOUR GUARANTEE

  • A strong Guarantee will dramatically increase your response. So,, how obvious and well communicated is it?
